WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Senate last night unanimously approved Commerce Committee nominees from the National Transportation Safety Board, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Commerce, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The nominees approved were:

NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD
* Mark V. Rosenker to be Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board
* Robert L. Sumwalt III to be a Member of the National Transportation Safety Board

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
* John H. Hill to be Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
* Charles D. Nottingham to be a Member of the Surface Transportation Board
* Sean T. Connaughton to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration

DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
* Jay M. Cohen to be Under Secretary for Science and Technology, Department of Homeland Security

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
* Nathaniel F. Wienecke to be an Assistant Secretary of Commerce

NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION
*Wade J. Blake to be a Captain in the NOAA
*Brian K. Taggart to be a Captain in the NOAA
*John E. Herring to be a Captain in the NOAA
*Christopher S. Moore to be a Captain in the NOAA
