Chairman Rockefeller Statement on the Nomination of Retired Major Gen. Harding to Lead TSA

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, issued the following statement today after the administration announced the nomination of retired Major Gen. Robert Harding to be Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
“The announcement today that Major Gen. Harding has been nominated to lead the TSA is great news for America’s national security,” said Chairman Rockefeller. “His work in the Intelligence Community for nearly 40 years should prove to be invaluable experience for this crucial post. I am committed to working with my fellow Commerce Committee members to move Major Gen. Harding’s nomination as expeditiously as possible to get him on the job for the American people.”
