Rockefeller, Dorgan Take Bipartisan Aviation Bill to the Senate Floor
Key Focus on Economic Stimulus, Securing Jobs, Safety and Modernization

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and, Transportation, and Senator Byron L. Dorgan, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security, brought legislation to the floor of the Senate to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act, cosponsored by Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), will accelerate modernization of America’s aviation system, address critical safety concerns, improve rural community access to air service, and help secure over a hundred thousand jobs.
