Executive Session

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation announced today that an executive session has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, 2011 to consider pending transportation safety reauthorization bills.  The Committee will also consider additional surface transportation reauthorization bills at the first markup in the next session of this Congress.  

The following bills and nominations will be considered*: 

  • S. 1449, the Motor Vehicle and Highway Safety Improvement Act of 2011 (Mariah’s Act) 
  • S. 1950, the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Enhancement Act of 2011
  • S. 1952, the Hazardous Materials Transportation Safety Improvement Act of 2011 
  • S. 1953, the Research and Innovative Technology Administration Reauthorization Act of 2011
  • Nominations for Promotion in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corp

*Not necessarily in order of consideration.
