Hutchison: TSA Decision on Collective Bargaining Will Hurt Security Mission
February 4, 2011
WASHINGTON, D.C. –Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, today said that the Transportation Security Administrator’s decision to allow collective bargaining for airport screeners would hurt the agency’s fundamental security mission.
“Transportation Security Administrator John Pistole’s
decision to allow screeners to collectively bargain is disappointing,” said
Senator Hutchison. “Allowing collective bargaining at TSA could have a
negative impact on the agency’s fundamental security mission. I have
spoken to Mr. Pistole today and told him of my serious concerns over this
decision.”
