Rockefeller Statement on Commerce Committee Approving McSweeny's FTC Nomination
Committee also approves several nominees during off-the-floor markup

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Chairman John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV today released the following statement after the nomination of Ms. Terrell McSweeny to be a Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was favorably reported out of the Commerce Committee.
“I think Terrell McSweeny is terrific and I congratulate her on the strong bipartisan support she received in the Commerce Committee today,” Rockefeller said. “Public service is one of this country’s highest callings, and it was clear during her nomination hearing that Terrell is deeply committed to helping others. Her extensive public policy background will serve her well at the FTC as she fights for consumers. Now that the Commerce Committee has approved her nomination with overwhelming support, it’s time for the Senate to act with the same vigor and confirm Terrell.”
