Rubio Calls Subcommittee Hearing on Fishery Data Collection

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard will hold a hearing entitled “Improvements and Innovations in Fishery Management and Data Collection” on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), chair of the subcommittee, will convene the hearing.
 
The hearing will focus on the importance of reliable fishery data and fish stock assessments. Witnesses will discuss how innovative data collection and scientific methods can improve the accuracy of stock assessments and lead to better fishery management.
