Confirmed Officials Can Now Provide Leadership in Advancing an Agenda for America

August 3, 2017

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, issued the following statement on the bipartisan nominations package that passed tonight by unanimous consent, filling key administration positions appointed by President Donald Trump. Of the 63 nominees, nine fall under the jurisdictional responsibility of the Commerce Committee.

“Confirming these nominees helps address unfair and largely partisan delays that have hampered the new administration’s initiatives to address critical transportation issues and support our economy,” said Thune. “I congratulate each of the confirmed nominees and look forward to working with them as they begin their new roles.”
