Wicker Receives FAA Response in Aviation Safety Inspectors Investigation
May 3, 2019
WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has responded to his investigation regarding potential deficiencies in training and certification of agency personnel.
“I am gratified the FAA has responded to the committee’s ongoing investigation and that the agency has acknowledged the need to reform some of its policies and procedures to ensure its personnel are appropriately trained,” Wicker said. “The FAA’s response raises issues that the committee will continue to examine. We are working to make sure the people and processes that certify airplanes continue to be the safest in the world.”
