WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today released the following statement regarding the White House’s announcement that President Biden would be nominating Dr. Arati Prabhakar to be Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy:

“Employees at the Office of Science and Technology Policy have suffered a gap in leadership for far too long since the former OSTP director resigned in disgrace. Today’s announcement is a positive step forward in ensuring accountable leadership and mending the broken trust within the agency. I look forward to vetting this nominee properly and making certain the next director will foster a healthy workplace environment at OSTP,” Wicker said.
