Subcommittee Hearing on U.S. Air Traffic Control Systems, Personnel and Safety

U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), Chair of the Subcommittee on Aviation Safety, Operations and Innovation, will convene a subcommittee hearing titled “U.S. Air Traffic Control Systems, Personnel and Safety” on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at approximately 10:25 AM EST directly following the 10 AM Committee markup. This hearing will examine the impact of the Federal Aviation Administration’s aging air traffic systems and facilities essential to air traffic control operations and related challenges among the technical air traffic workforce. The hearing will also consider recommendations to strengthen aviation safety in the United States’ air traffic control system in light of increasing air travel demand and airspace users.
