Field Hearing: Examining the Impact of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on Transportation Infrastructure

U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Chair of the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, Maritime, Freight and Ports, will convene a subcommittee field hearing titled “Examining the Impact of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on Transportation Infrastructure” on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 10 A.M. ET in Lansing, Michigan. 

In 2021, Congress passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act – also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – which authorized historic investments in surface transportation and port infrastructure projects. This hearing will examine the opportunities and challenges in implementing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on the state and local level, including the successes and potential areas of improvements in the rollout of discretionary and formula funding in rural, urban, and suburban areas in Michigan.
