Sen. Cruz Announces Boeing CEO Will Testify Before Senate Commerce Committee
February 14, 2025
Hearing will feature testimony from Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, announced the committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, April 2 at 10:00 AM EST. The hearing will examine the steps taken at Boeing to address its production and safety issues following the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 incident last year and the FAA safety review.
Upon announcing the hearing, Sen Cruz said,
“I appreciate that Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg has agreed to testify before the Senate Commerce Committee to detail what steps the company has taken to strengthen its commitment to a safety-focused, quality-driven culture. Boeing has been a great American manufacturer and all of us should want to see it thrive. Given Boeing’s past missteps and problems, the flying public deserves to hear what changes are being made to rehabilitate the company’s tarnished reputation.”
Additional information is forthcoming.
