Rockefeller Praises Clean Extension of FAA, Calls on House to Appoint Conferees
September 16, 2011
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Chairman John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV issued the following statement today after the Senate cleared a “clean” extension of funding for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) keeping the agency operational through the end of the year:
“I’m glad the Senate has passed a clean extension of funding for the FAA. In doing so we’ve overcome attempts to once again put workers out of a job. Shutting down the FAA again would be unacceptable. It’s time for the House to appoint conferees so we can finish negotiating a comprehensive reauthorization package. The American people and the economy depend on it.”
