Rockefeller on FAA Whistleblower Claims
May 8, 2012
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator John D. (Jay) Rockefeller today released the following statement on the letter from the Office of Special Counsel about Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) whistleblower claims:
“Whistleblower information is one of the best tools we have to keep the flying public safe, and every safety concern raised by FAA employees has to be taken seriously and handled promptly,” said Chairman Rockefeller. “Congress just enacted into law a new Aviation Safety Whistleblower Investigation Office for exactly this reason. There is no excuse for bureaucratic delays when safety is involved, and the FAA has to take steps right away to make this a higher priority.”
