WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., Chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today announced the committee’s chief of investigations.

Robert Turner brings to the committee an expansive and diverse background in federal law enforcement that will be invaluable as he leads the committee’s oversight and investigations efforts. Turner recently retired from federal law enforcement after serving 21 years in the United States Marshals Service. Most recently, he served as the Acting United States Marshal for the District of Columbia. While in the Marshals Service, Turner gained valuable experience as a senior leader in several headquarters divisions, led complex criminal investigations utilizing electronic surveillance and managed the agency’s tactical communications program, including spectrum management. He has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Charter Oak State College of New Britain, CT and is currently enrolled in the Naval War College Graduate Degree program seeking a Master of Arts Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies.
