WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today released the following statement after the Committee approved the presidential nomination of Peter Buttigieg to be Secretary of Department of Transportation, which was approved by roll call vote 21-3.

“I look forward to seeing Pete Buttigieg confirmed by the full Senate and working with him in his new role as Secretary of Transportation,” said Wicker. “Transportation issues historically have been addressed on a bipartisan basis, and I expect to continue that practice with Mr. Buttigieg.”
