Aviation, Space, and Innovation
The Subcommittee on Aviation, Space, and Innovation has jurisdiction over civil aviation, including: safety, security, technology, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, consumer protection, research and development, airspace, international aviation matters, and national and civil space policy. The subcommittee conducts oversight on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), aviation programs of the Department of Transportation (DOT) with respect to economic regulation of air carriers and passenger airline service, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Space Council, and the Department of Commerce Office of Space Commerce.

Consumer Protection, Technology, and Data Privacy
The Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Technology, and Data Privacy is responsible for consumer affairs and consumer product safety; product liability; property and casualty insurance; cybersecurity; sports-related matters; consumer privacy and data security protection; and international data transfer issues. The subcommittee conducts oversight of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), and the Office of the Secretary of Commerce.

Coast Guard, Maritime, and Fisheries
The Subcommittee on Coast Guard, Maritime, and Fisheries has jurisdiction over matters that impact oceans, coasts and inland waterways including: coastal zone management; marine fisheries; marine mammals; and oceans, weather, and atmospheric activities. The subcommittee is responsible for overseeing the U.S. Coast Guard, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Marine Mammal Commission, the Maritime Administration (MARAD), the Federal Maritime Commission, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, the Panama Canal, and the United States Arctic Research Commission.

The subcommittee conducts oversight on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), the U.S. Global Change Research Program, the Corporation for Travel Promotion, the National Travel and Tourism Office, the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, the Tourism Policy Council, the Department of Commerce export promotion sub-agencies, live entertainment issues, the Department of Commerce manufacturing bureaus, the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), and workforce development matters.

Surface Transportation, Freight, Pipelines, and Safety
The Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, Freight, Pipelines, and Safety has legislative and oversight jurisdiction over surface transportation policy. In addition to the committee's broad oversight of the Office of the Secretary of Transportation, the subcommittee has oversight over the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Amtrak, the Surface Transportation Board, the Transportation Security Administration (surface transportation security), and the National Transportation Safety Board (surface transportation issues).

Telecommunications and Media
The Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Media has jurisdiction over all sectors of communications, including: wired and wireless telephony; commercial and noncommercial television; cable; satellite broadcast; satellite communications; wireline and wireless broadband; radio; spectrum and consumer electronic equipment associated with such services, cybersecurity, and public safety communications. The subcommittee also is responsible for oversight of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) at the Department of Commerce, which is the federal agency primarily responsible for advising the President on telecommunications policy and managing spectrum use by the executive branch.
