Senate Commerce Approves Feinberg for Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration
October 27, 2015
WASHINGTON – The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation today approved Sarah Feinberg to be administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration by a 19-1 vote in an off-the-floor markup in the U.S. Capitol.
Commerce Committee chairman, U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), issued the following statement on the committee’s mark-up of Ms. Feinberg to serve as administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration:
“At her confirmation hearing, Ms. Feinberg offered assurances that she will lead the Federal Railroad Administration in a transparent and responsive manner if confirmed for the position of administrator by the full Senate. This is a critical time for railroads and Americans who depend on them. Effective leadership that communicates challenges and creates accountability is critically important for our nation’s railroad safety regulator. I appreciate Ranking Member Bill Nelson’s assistance in reporting Ms. Feinberg’s nomination out of Committee.”
